Will Lex be in Man of Steel???
Lex Luthor is a brilliant scientist, an industrialist, a super-villain and Superman’s archenemy. He often views Superman as the only person standing in the way of his complete world domination, therefore the death of Superman has been a primary goal of Lex Luthor for over 70 years now.
The creators of Superman, Jerry Siegel and Joe Schuster first introduced Lex Luthor in April of 1940 in Action Comics #23. In that story, Luther tries to provoke a war between two fictional European countries and is ultimately stopped by Superman. Since then, this super-villain continued to evolve, from the middle aged, red-haired genius of the 1940’s to the bald-headed corporate executive of the 1980’s to the evil manipulative crook we’ve come to know in the recent movies.
There are a lot of questions surrounding Zack Snyder’s new Superman film, which is scheduled for release in December 2012. For one, who will be the villain? Will Zack Snyder follow suit with the previous Superman movies and have Lex Luthor wreak havoc on the world, or are we in store for a new villain, maybe Bizarro or Brainiac? Will we get to see General Zod again? Since Superman: Man of Steel is supposed to be a complete reboot of the Superman franchise, I would be surprised if we were not introduced to a new Lex Luthor. Who do you think should play the most famous super-villain in the world in the upcoming movie?

I’d just really like to convincing Lex and not someone ‘hamming’ up the role. While Hackman and Spacey were good in their own ways, the Lex Luthor they played never seemed threatening enough or capable of anything greatly threatening. Rosenbaum has done the best job as Lex in Smallville – an evil genius with truly menacing undertones. Thats the kind of Lex i’d like to see on screen.

Just for the record, in my opinion, Clancy Brown is the greatest Lex of all time. That said we now he can’t aesthetically pull it off live action and I believe Timothy Olyphant would be perfect. His villain in Live Free or Die Hard was really good and a Lex-type villain to boot..pun intended. While the two villain movie formula has worked well in the past for both companies, maybe (praying) just once a proper casting choice will be made for this movie and just do 1 really good Live Action Big Screen Lex. I too dig Rosenbaum but his Lex may not translate that well to a straight out arch fiend because of the friend aspect so deeply rooted in Smallville.

I agree with what you’re saying about Rosenbaum, I just think he’s been the best on screen so far. Apparently though the villain of the piece is set to be General Zod, played by Michael Shannon.
