Newsarama.com have announced that two beloved shows on Cartoon Network will be cancelled at the end of their current season, Young Justice and Green Lantern: The Animated Series. They will be replacing the shows with the new shows coming in the fall of 2013.

“A representative from Warner Brothers Animation confirmed to Newsarama the cancelation. Cartoon Network’s only official stance is that the new episodes already produced will continue to air.”Newsarama.com

Taking their place will be: Beware the Batman, which  computer-generated animation, and Teen Titans Go, a humourous rehash of the successful Teen Titans animated series and Star Wars: The Clone Wars will be moving to a Disney-owned TV channel, mainly because of Disney’s purchase of Lucasfilm last year.

  • Oh great, cancel 2 great shows and bring in yet more batman and what looks like an incredibly childish teen titans show.

  • This makes zero sense, Young Justice is one of the greatest cartoons ever, and these two new ones looks like trash.

  • brilliant. The Lantern show was crap. But Young Justice was excellent.

I fail to understand the logic of these people. you get a good show that everyone enjoys, and then cancel it after 2 seasons.

    • Both Green Lantern and Young Justice Are awesome! Cartoon Network is proving that there are no brains at work as far as the shows go. Trash like Regular Show, and Adventure Tame is crap, they will lose me as a viewer.

  • Canceling Young Justice is just shooting themselves in the foot. So much potential there. If the network had kept a consistent schedule the ratings woulda soared.

  • Worst idea ever!

  • And there goes the last reason for me to watch cartoon network. WHat is it with these dumb downed goofy superhero shows. The new teen titans show looks horrible.

  • I will never understand TV networks. Idiots.

Ok…totally bummed…the Green Lantern was amazing …to me anyway…I have heard folks diss it…I really don’t know what that’s about…but we can all agree Young Justice (or as I affectionately call it Young Jeezy) was the best Superhero cartoon team show …evah!…but yo…we lucked out…unlike what Marvel… Dc gave us 3 seasons of awesomeness…I hate suits as much as the next guy but for that many seasons with consistant great writing?…unprecedented….Earth’s Mightiest heroes did not get that kind of love…lt seems when ever Marvel has a great show…ie: Wolverene and the X-men…Earth’s Mightiest heroes…they just say whatever cancel it…they’ll getover it…let penalize fans cuz we got a great Avengers movie…huh?…and when we come back we’ll replace the Black Panther with the Falcon…they’ll deal. So yeah iam disapointed but think about it…it was awesome…so thank u Cartoon Network…but please don’t hesitate to try to go there again

  • Cartoon Network is out of theiir god dam minds teen Titans was a horrible show and doesn’t even come close to Young Justice , Cartoon Network is slowly digging it own grave and what brains do they have , cancel fan favorite that’s a sure wax to use viewers morons !!!!!!!

  • Why would they cancel two great shows for what looks like a bad Batman show and a childish Teen Titans. The people behind the scenes suck.

  • young justice was excellent I must agree what is going through the heads of those executives @ cartoon network SMH U GUYS AREN’T MAKING MUCH SENSE. It seems like a waste of time to start watching any show cause u all cancel it for ridiculous reasons.

  • They want to cancel two shows that are doing well and put on shows where one the batman one looks like it’s been done before and the teen titans go looks like it’s going to be mindless dribble. The teen titans that they had a few years ago was good.
I understand why star wars is going to Disney but now CN has an opening for a show or two so why not just keep GL and Young Justice going and start the new shows? The problem that CN has is that it’s doing mostly reruns and mindless dribble that is a waist of time. I don’t know how CN is still on the air with all the BS that they have been doing. Most of the shows that I want to see are on during the night and I can’t watch due to being so late but I only really like one during the day other then GL and YJ. I hope that there is a write in campaign or a petition.

  • THE BEST SHOWS ON THE CHANNEL ARE GOING TO BE CANCELLED???? Why? That’s the worst decision ever! Please reconsider this because you are really making a bad decision!!! Please!

  • So Young Justice had numerous hiatus’ just for it to be cancelled. Great -_____- Oh and as for the new teen titans show, it looks like “dc universe got slapped with johnny test.”

  • Anyone else think that they have seriously exhausted batman? This will be the 4th Batman series on TV, I like Batman but I’m started to get very bored of him being the only character DC promotes.

Not to worry. Beware the Batman and Teen Titans Go will be cancelled in a year or two. GL and YJ were too good for an aimless TV network and will live forever on DVD.

  • perhaps it can go to Boomerang and continue with new episodes…

  • I think this was a deliberate move by CN. First they put the shows on hiatus for a ridiculous period of time, at the last minute, and give no reason for it. Then they release the two episodes that were scheduled to air the day the hiatus began on iTunes, where they are downloaded by a significant percentage of the viewers. Then the shows come back and CN bases the decision to renew on the ratings for those episodes alone. Of course the ratings for those shows were low. The episodes had already been downloaded and viewed by most of the audience. The following episodes had some of the highest ratings either show had ever had, but that didn’t matter. This was clearly done to give CN an excuse to cancel the shows despite both being very popular shows on their network. Why? The same reason Tron: Uprising got the same treatment by Disney XD. Adults were watching the show. For some reason an animated show that is aimed at kids but is also popular with adults is considered poison by networks like CN and Disney XD because all of their merchandising and advertising is aimed at children, and they believe that will not earn their sponsers enough money if these shows are being watched by adults. Nevermind, the kids still need ot get their parents to by the crap being shilled in those ads, so the adults are still making the purchase decisions anyway. Stupid network execs need to get their heads out of their asses and court sponsers to fit the audience, not the other way around.

ne slip on live television, it’s an accident (Ron Jarowski) or in a moment of surprise Lee Corso). The Rock was speaking like a third grader who’s trying to see what he could get away with.In this clip, he says “bull-” at the 38-second mark. We won’t subject you to the other two verbal slips:Don’t play coy, The Rock. You know you were live.Buccigross apologized for the language later in the show.Y
