Captain America – No Wings!!!

Whats wrong with this Picture???

i can understand some aspects of the costume design such as why they have to town down the colours. I can see sense in the utility belt (didn’t another Superhero have one)  as even sentinals of liberty need somewhere to keep their keys, chewing gum and mobile/cell. I can even accept the need for the gun, although i’m sure Cap’s creator Jack Kirby would be horrified.

But please can someone explain to me why the hell Captain Americas iconic wings are painted on to his helmet. They are as much a part of his mythology has his shield.

I know you film guys have to alter things to make the cinematically credible but don’t tamper with the basics.

Would you paint Supermans kiss curl on his head?

    It’s not like the wings glued to the side would be practical. I think people should be glad they’re even there. At least they didn’t completely redesign his outfit to look spiffy and new like they did to the Mach 5 in Speed Racer. =shudders in anger=

        Have to agree with you bot he’s has the wings but, couldn’t the have the whole head covered. This is a American Icon Here. And what’s with The Gun. Cap don’t need no stinking gun. That like Ironman needing to rest.

    Cap had a gun when he was in Tales of Suspense but, when he became one of the first Aventures he didn’t need a gun.
