Actor Chris Pratt has won over the hearts at Marvel and has been picked to play the lead role as Star-Lord in Guardians of the Galaxy, kind of like Tony Stark in Marvel’s The Avengers last year. The actor has recently been on the big screen in comedies and romantic comedies and he recently slimmed down and bulked up to play one of the heroic Navy Seals in Academy Award nominated movie Zero Dark Thirty.

Deadline.com have revealed the casting news. Guardians Of The Galaxy first appeared in Marvel Comics in 1969 but didn’t get its own series until the 1990s. Star-Lord (real name Peter Quill) leads a group of alien superheros who team to protect the solar system from an evil alien race.

  • There was a Guardiams of the Galaxy comic in the 80′s.It was a different team and in the furture. There also was a Giant sized Starlord one shot I had when I was way younger in the 70′s.Chris Pratt is funny as hell in Parks and recreation.I have not seen Zero Dark 30 yet but I like Pratt as a comidic actor and hope he gets a break as a “Action Hero”
