I told ya! Ww’s outfit DOES have colors, and the lasso is GOLD, not silver!

My only disappointment is that her golds aren’t silver (the chest & knees).

Maybe by the end of the movie, she’ll switch outfits, after being inspiresd by Superman’s outfit…and then we’ll see the red-blue-silver swimsuit type outfit.

Her bracelets make sure of that!

Maybe she can teach the superheroes (& the world) something about that.

Long ago while writing my personal WW screenplay, I’ve always envisioned a polynesian woman playing WW. Now its a polynesian man playing Aquaman.

Funny how things turn out

If DC/warner is doing it right, the role that WW plays in all this is that she proves that a woman’s touch is what’s needed to quell the destructive testosterone building up between superman & batman…..Just as her creator created her to do!

Comment on Why can’t they pull off a good Wonder Woman? by Brett Jett http://www.worldofsuperheroes.com/2013/09/why-cant-they-pull-off-a-good-wonder-woman/#comment-7096 Sat, 11 Jul 2015 00:38:20 +0000 http://www.worldofsuperheroes.com/?p=51380#comment-7096 Expert? Well I’M an expert at the character known as Wonder Woman.

Sorry for replying to this article so late, but I JUST stumbled upon it today while checking my emails. And in order not to get sucked into a long conversation, I will just comment in regards to the MAGIC subtopic:

The WW universe is based in what you folks refer to as “magic”. When Dr. Marston designed her universe, he chose to use Greek Mythology as the basis of his fiction, as the thread of “reality” in that universe. But don’t forget, he draped the Greek Mythology over his psycho-sexual philosophy and feminism, which are the crux of the WW universe.

He also layered his WW universe with mysticism (both fictionalized & true-to-life versions), which is what you all generally refer to as “magic”. You see, the magic that appears in WW’s universe is of the divine type…it isn’t arbitrary magic. Its not like the arcane magic you see in, say, Harry Potter. All of the fantastical stuff in her world has a basis in mysticism, including the Greek gods.

What is mysticism? Well, in general, it covers things such as spiritual experiences, the occult, paranormal, supernatural, and basically all the phenomena that occurs in the real world, half of which has been proven to exist while the other half is still up in the air. BTW, in order to understand mysticism further, research & study & learn about near-death experiences (NDE).

Take WW’s super strength for example: Her strength comes from the fact that she was born within the god-decreed environment of the Amazons’ magic girdle, which represents women’s power. Then she developed her strength further by exercising her brain energy, which represents the very REAL concept of people (esp. women) using their minds to unlock their full potential.

And in the real world, there is nothing really mystical about the mystical…once you understand the reality of it. And in the realm of fiction, “magic” could very well be simply aspects of reality that is beyond what the status quo currently understands thus seeming to be fantastical.

Every so-called magical thing that happens in WW’s world has an emotional, spiritual, moral, or otherwise sensical basis. Mysticism is simply another way Mother Nature manifests what we already know to be real…things like emotions, morals, etc, intangible concepts.
Under the layer that is mysticism lies the point of what goes on in WW’s universe. So with all that in mind, how can anyone replace that for science-based stuff?!? The “magic” helps give meaning to the WW stories.

You take that away, and you basically strip WW down to being simply a comicbook story about a nice looking gal in a bustier and nothing more.
