Will Tom Cruise Ever Play A Superhero?
February 24, 2017 By Richard Hayes
Tom Cruise is one of the most famous actors in the world. Ever since the 80s, Cruise has been hailed as one of the leading actors that can sell out movie theaters and make hits. From the start, Cruise has been acting as an action star in high energy movies like Top Gun and Days of Thunder. Only going up from there, Cruise immortalized his name as an action star in the movie franchise, Mission Impossible. Hanging from cliffs and repelling into enemy territory is just another day on the job for the characters Cruise plays on the big screen.
The big question on everyone’s mind is why has Cruise never played a superhero? As one of the biggest names in the industry, it seems as though he would be a perfect choice for a blockbuster hit. However, in recent interviews, Cruise has stated that even though he loves these types of movies, he is happy to not star as a superhero. If the right role came his way, it would be exciting to see how Cruise would react.
For comic book fans all over the world, it is fun to think of the roles Cruise would absolutely nail. With amazing acting skills, it would most likely be pretty easy for Cruise to transform into just about any superhero he had offered to him. However, with his certain body type and look, aesthetically there are certain superheroes that would be a better fit for Cruise. Not that Cruise looks at movies from a financial standpoint anymore, but superheroes are blockbuster gold, as five of the top 10 grossing movies last year were superhero films.
Aquaman is a superhero who would be played very well by Cruise. However, James Momoa was the chosen for the role for this superhero of the deep sea. Booster Gold is a superhero who would be almost perfect for Cruise. With a pretty boy smile and flowing hair, Cruise would be a perfect portrayal of this attractive hero. Geo-Force would also be a fun hero for Cruise to play if they ever chose to make a movie based around this hero.
While Cruise has never played a superhero until now, it will be exciting to see if there are any movie deals that are just too good for this actor to pass up. As superhero movies are becoming more popular and such big money makers, Cruise might have a deal come his way where he just has to say yes. We may be referring to Cruise in the future as Geo-Fore or Booster Gold. Only time will tell if Cruise will jump on the superhero bandwagon.
