Mobile Superhero Games Worth Your Time
February 2, 2017
Whether you’re a DC or Marvel fanatic, or simply see the value in any well-told superhero story, chances are you’ll probably see the value in playing as some of your favorite characters as well. But what mobile games give you the best storyline, action and graphics? With so many mobile games out there, it’s sometimes difficult to choose, especially if they come with a cash price tag. Here’s a look at the best mobile superhero games:
No matter which superhero is your favorite, the best graphics award has to go to Batman Arkham Origins. With fast-paced combat and an immersive storyline, this game is great for anyone who’s a fan of the Dark Knight. Batman Arkham Origins was ported over from the console and PC game of the same name, but if you’re looking for a similar experience, you won’t find it here, especially because the action commands are swipes and taps on your screen rather than combinations on a controller.
While this game has some eye-catching graphics, you’ll want to make sure your mobile device can handle the workload. A larger screen may also be in order. The Samsung Galaxy S7 edge is perfect for the mobile gamer; with a 5.5 inch Quad HD Super AMOLED screen and the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor, you’ll get the picture quality you want and the performance you need.
Best For Retro Gamers
X-Men, released by Konami in 1992, was one of the premier sidescroller, beat-em-up games of the early ’90s. This game ran on the same engine as The Simpson arcade game, though X-Men has a more varied cast of playable characters, including favorites like Wolverine, Cyclops and Storm, as well as lesser-known X-Men like Colossus, Nightcrawler and the super obscure, Dazzler. While you won’t get high-resolution graphics on this game, it’s certainly worth your dime if you enjoy the classics of yesteryear.
For The Kids
There’s already a Batman title on this list, but LEGO Batman: DC Super Heroes is a great gaming option for the little ones in your life. This light-hearted romp is great for those who love heroes and villains without graphic violence or adult material. The character range is huge, with over 70 playable characters to help protect Gotham.
Hero Vs. Hero
In Marvel: Contest of Champions, pit your team of hand-picked heroes against another. Change your team composition as you follow the storyline and progress through iconic battles. Each hero has unique attacks and abilities that compliment each other to assist in thwarting your enemies. Play as your favorite Marvel characters like Spiderman, Iron Man, Wolverine and even Star-Lord. Earn experience for each battle and quest you complete along the way. Each chapter of the story breaks off into smaller sections and gives you a choice on how to progress your team and the move forward in the storyline. While the story aspect of the game isn’t extensive, it does give each battle more meaning and weight, especially when you decide to follow one story path rather than another.
