GAME REVIEW: Star Wars Battlefront
April 7, 2016 By Brad Stokes
It’s the reboot fans have been waiting for!
Which side will you chose the light side or the dark side?
The game brings immense action, humour and realistic graphics throughout.
After playing the beta I was excited to see what the full game would bring, when the release date finally arrived in November 2015 I was very impressed with the results.
Even the title screen had me amazed when the Star Wars original theme plays in the background which reminded me of childhood memories.
The game focuses on two sides The Rebellion (the light side) and The Imperials (the dark side).
Although there is no campaign the multiplayer is very entertaining and has a good choice of game modes such as Heroes vs Villains, Supremacy, Fighter Squadron and one of my personal favourites Walker Assault.
If you play as the Rebellion your objective is to stop two Walkers from reaching the uplinks, both Walkers must be defeated in order to win, The Imperials objective is to stop the Rebels from taking down the Walkers so that they can reach their goal.
The graphics are outstanding and give great detail from sparks and footprints in the snow to the sound effects which are portrayed just like they are in the Star Wars films all which help give the game realism.
During game modes you can collect pickups which give you specialist weapons such as rocket launchers, however they only last a short amount of time but can help when fighting in big groups.
The best pickups you can collect are heroes which can be very hard to find on the maps, if you are lucky enough to come across one depending on which side you are fighting for you can choose between three heroes on The Rebellion side (Luke Skywalker, Princess Lea or Han Solo), The dark side (Darth Vader, Boba Fett or the Emperor, the image below shows the heroes I’ve mentioned.
Overall I give this game an 8/10 rating the reason for this is because I feel that the Imperial team has a much bigger advantage than the Rebellion which is quite frustrating, secondly the game may have a number of different game modes to choose from but it does get very repetitive.
