Commissioner Gordon Cast for 2017 Justice League Movie
March 8, 2016 By Holly Clarkson
J.K Simmons has been confirmed to be playing Batman’s unofficial police friend and Gotham’s, Commissioner Gordon, in next years Justice League movie.
News spread all around the internet yesterday as Warner Bros revealed that they had cast Simmons as the character. J.K Simmons is well known in the comic book movie world as he played Peter Parker’s boss at the Daily Bugle, J. Jonah Jameson, way back in the early 2000’s in the Sam Raimi Spider-Man films. He was perfect for the part and Simmons had said that he would be happy to do the role again in any other Spider-Man adaptions however now he has crossed over to the dark side we probably won’t see him with a cigar and shout ‘I want Spider-Man’ again… ok maybe a cigar. Gary Oldman did a great job in the Dark Knight trilogy playing James Gordon but I think Simmons will take on the characters and do it Justice too.
The up-coming Justice League film is slowly moving forward with their productions and casting, the Justice League characters themselves have all been cast however not many supporting characters such as Commissioner Gordon had been mentioned. With the film out November next year, we are guessing that once Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice has been released in cinemas that they will get cracking on the Justice League.
