2016 Social Media Interest Goes to DC

Variety has teamed up with ListenFirst Digital Audience Ratings to measure social media trends across platforms like Google+, Instagram, Facebook, Tumblr, Twitter, Wikipedia and YouTube. According to their most recent report, Warner Bros. has the most anticipated superhero movies of 2016 with Suicide Squad & Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.
Among the slew of comic book films set for release in 2016, including new “X-Men” and “Captain America”. Early social and digital tracking places “Suicide Squad” and “Batman v Superman” 500% stronger than competitors based on standing at the same point pre-release. “Batman v Superman” is currently the number 1 film by volume, followed by “Suicide Squad” and “Deadpool.”
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is due in theatres on March 25, and Suicide Squad opens this summer on August 5.
