Power Stone’s Color Change In Guardians Of The Galaxy ANSWERED
October 24, 2015 By Alex Eyre
This question has been asked ALOT since the emergence of the Infinity Stones in the MCU, why are the stones NOT the same colours as they are in the comics, what possible reason could they have to change them?
Now you would think they must have a very good reason, otherwise they would just keep them the same, ye?
Well it turns out no, the truth behind the matter is they messed up!
Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn posted a pic of the original Infinity Stone of Power revealing it to be red! Confused, don’t be. It turns out originally the power stone was meant to be red like in the comics, but after Gunn saw the Reality Stone was red in Thor: The Dark World, it had to be changed.
“The Marvel Phase 2 Box Set will be available exclusively on Amazon on December 9,” Gunn wrote. “It’s all within a replica of the Orb from Guardians of the Galaxy. Below is a photo of the original Orb, which is in my dining room, a birthday gift from the folks at Marvel. And, yes, the power stone was originally red but I changed it in post-production after seeing the Aether in Thor 2 (sometimes we’re not as well planned out as you guys think).” via Comicbook.com
Below you can see how it was meant to be, a red power stone.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. Is due to hit cinemas on May 5, 2017.
