Female Wolverine Announced by Marvel for “All-New, All-Different Marvel” Universe.
October 19, 2015 By Alex Eyre
Marvel has announced its female character who will be taking on title of Wolverine that in the “All-New, All-Different Marvel” Universe.
Laura Kinney, also known as X-23 in the comics, was a product of the same Weapon X program. She was cloned from a damaged sample of Wolverines DNA on the 23rd attempt, thus the name. This clone was born to scientist Sarah Kenney and from the moment she could walk, was trained to be better than Wolverine and to one day kill him! Instead however she joined the X-Men and became like a “surrogate daughter” to Logan.

Following Wolverines apparent death in the comics last year, someone was needed to fill the space left by one of, if not the greatest X-Men ever, and who better than his daughter and clone. So Kinney donned Wolverine’s famous blue and yellow uniform and fought in his place!
“Logan may have fallen, but Laura will honour his memory by taking up the mantle and following in his footsteps as a hero,” Marvel said in the announcement. “And she’ll stop at nothing to protect those around her from the forces of evil.”
So ability wise Kinney’s is near enough identical to Wolverine, being his clone and all. So she has his massive healing factor, his strength and most importantly 3 retractable claws. But unlike daddy, Kinney has 2 claws on each hand and 1 on each foot. Also worth noting is the fact she doesn’t have a full adamantium skeleton.
X-23’s Wolverine will make her debut on Nov. 11.
