Chris Pine Joins the DC Film Universe as Wonder Woman’s Love interest
July 30, 2015 By Holly Clarkson
Chris Pine has been rumoured to be in talks with Warner Bros. about possibly taking on the role of Green Lantern in the upcoming Justice League movie, however, recent news has revealed that DC has cast him as a role in a different DC movie as a love interest.
Yup, Wonder Woman’s most famous love interest, Steve Trevor, will be played by Chris Pine alongside Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman. Apparently he won’t just be the love interest Wonder Woman saves but he will have plenty of action scenes and it may lead to him being in multiple DC films including Diana Prince.
This might be a good move for Pine not taking Green Lantern, as a supporting role means that he will have time to film other movies and won’t be type cast as one character, which is what most actors try to avoid.
Patty Jenkins is directing “Wonder Woman,” with Zack Snyder and Deborah Snyder producing. Jason Fuchs wrote the script after working with Warner Bros. on Joe Wright’s “Pan.”
