Will Avengers: Infinity War Part Two have Avengers vs Masters of Evil?
November 19, 2014 By Steve Eyre
When the Avengers have turned Ultron back into nuts and bolts in Avengers 2 and sent Thanos back whimpering into the arms of his beloved Death in Avengers 3, rumour has it that they will face off against another super team.
Although this will be sometime after 2020, it will still be too early for a crossover battle with DC super team Justice League of America, which would surely be the highest grossing film of all time.
So who will it be?
My guess is they will battle a team of Supervillians and my choice would be The Masters of Evil.
Like the Avengers they had a constantly changing roster and under the leadership of Baron Zemo and later his son, called not unexpectedly Baron Zemo, they battled the Avengers to a standstill many times.
The most classic battle ran in a story arc through Avengers 273 to 277 in 1986/7.
With a team including, Absorbing Man, Tiger Shark, Titania, Whirlwind, Grey Gargoyle, Goliath, Mr Hyde, the Fixer and Black Mamba, bolstered by the muscle of the Wrecking Crew, Baron Zemo jnr invaded and took over the Avengers Mansion which was eventually destroyed in the final battle.
Some Avengers were taken hostage and in a particularly harrowing sequence, their Butler Jarvis was tortured by the diabolical Mr Hyde.
This would make a great film, a stand alone story with the worlds greatest superhero team locking horns with their counterpart supervillians.
This illustrates what a wealth of back stories and characters the film companies have to choose from. They have only just scratched the surface.
Marvel and DC combined have 130 years of history. The story lines, the heroes and villains, the supporting casts are all there. All the filmmakers have to do is choose the right ones, treat them with respect and put them up there for us all to see.
Let me know which comic book story lines you would like to see on screen in a comment below.
Keep reading, keep watching but most of all keep enjoying.
