GOTHAM: Villain Trailer and ARROW Easter Egg
September 30, 2014 By Holly Clarkson
GOTHAM aired it’s second episode last night and it seems that the rumours of the show having a crossover with the ARROW and Flash universe may be true. Mainly down to two things:
Looking at all the easter eggs fans have pointed out on the net so far, we spotted a very interesting one, one that potentially teases a crossover between GOTHAM and Arrow onscreen at some point. The Queen’s consolidated logo has been spotted on one of the buildings in Gotham already with it only having aired two episodes so far.
A villain that could connect the universes at some point has been referenced in Gotham as Barton Mathis, the most recent incarnation of The Dollmaker and was also the one who appeared in Arrow during the show’s second season.
Apparently Gotham showrunner Bruno Heller said that he would love to eventually crossover with Arrow at some point in the series and DC’s Chief Creative Officer, Geoff Johns, has already revealed that the shows universes aren’t connected not because they wish to keep the characters from appearing in each others shows but so that the writing teams have freedom to create the characters and story lines how they wish without worrying about upsetting or standing on toes from the other shows. It would limit the writers, just look how many villains and heroes are being shared between the shows already.
So the big guys behind it seem up for the crossover but it would make it difficult with ARROW’s and Flash’s storyline around the same time frame and GOTHAM set way before Bruce Wayne became Batman.
Looking at the latest ARROW news I also found this really cool villain trailer for GOTHAM:
