First Showmasters Sheffield Show – A Smash!
September 4, 2014 By Steve Eyre
The Sheffield Film and Comic Con held over the weekend at Sheffield’s Motorpoint Arena exceeded all expectations.
The fans, many in cosplay, turned out in such numbers that the Arena was filled by lunchtime on Saturday. With great guests including Chase Masterson, Dirk Benedict ,Sylvester McCoy and David Prowse, the place was buzzing and our team were especially enthralled by the beautiful Pixie Leknot, a local actress who made quite an impact in Game of Thrones and is about to make our favourite kind of movie, a superhero film. Watch out for our own Holly Wood’s exclusive video interview with her coming soon.
As usual the Showmasters team were on fire and the organisation of the event, to say it was the first show at this venue, was impressive.
Even the dealers, grumpy at the best of times, admitted it was better than expected, high praise indeed.
I would like to extend a special thanks to Jill who sorted out our press passes, the legendary Mike Conroy and Cassie and of course to Jason, the boss man who makes it all happen.
I was delighted when he told me he’d booked for next year. As the base of our UK Headquarters, we have a special affinity with Sheffield and are delighted that at long last, it has a Comicon worthy of the great city.
See you there next year.
