ANT-MAN 2015 Cast… Marvel Virgins
August 3, 2014 By Holly Clarkson
Marvel’s panel revealed a lot about next year’s ANT-MAN movie – we found out that the villain will be Corey Stoll who will play YELLOWJACKET in the film and Evangeline Lilly will be playing Hank Pym’s daughter, Hope Van Dyne.
As well as characters being confirmed, some cast members have been cut from the script; Patrick Wilson, Matt Gerald and Kevin Weisman’s characters have been written out of the new script. Don’t forget the poster that was released especially for the comic convention too.
As always at the Marvel panels, the cast and crew had a humorous chat with the crowd on their feelings about starring in the new film and joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Paul Rudd who will be playing lead role, Scott Lang, started off by saying,
“I’m popping my Comic-Con cherry, It’s a mind bender. I’m so honored to be a part of it. It’s really thrilling. I’ve been doing this as a job for awhile, but this is a whole other thing!”
Michael Douglas, taking the role of Hank Pym, responded with a charmingly witty,
“I’ve popped enough cherries… I have looked at Marvel’s movies from afar with tremendous envy, It’s a wonderful story, being surrounded by these guys, Peyton, Paul, Evangeline, Corey, it’s amazing.”
Douglas went on to tell the fans a little about the storyline,
“…of a heist, with Hank’s partner, Corey, trying to take their company into an evil direction, and it’s up to his new mentee in Paul to take over and save the day.”
Lilly also revealed her love for the comic universe and how she’s glad to be joining it on the big screen,
“Very glad to formally announce that I’m in this movie. I’m playing Hope, Hank Pym’s daughter, but I don’t even have a script yet, so I can’t tell you anymore about it! Comic-Con is my world. Everything I’ve ever done on the screen, you guys were right in the mix. I started coming here in 2005. I love my people!”
Recently revealed villain, Corey Stoll aka Yellowjacket says that his character,
“…does at some point obtain some Pym particles and gives Ant-Man a run for his money, and he puts on the Yellowjacket suit and wreaks havoc.”
Filming hasn’t started but they did show off some test footage the crew had being playing around with. It won’t be long before they start filming, CGI will play a big part in the development process of the film. The cast did have an interview together for the first time, check it out below.
