The Comic Book Goldmine
July 18, 2014 By Jon Somers
Classic comic books are now big business. The value of first editions and rare publications has skyrocketed over the past couple of decades.
For a growing number of people, comics are an investment for the future. The world record currently stands at an eye-watering $2.16 million for an Action Comics #1 sold in 2013. Compare this to just twenty years ago when only a handful of comics exceeded the $100,000 mark and it’s safe to say that there has never been a better time to part with your old comic book collection. It’s staggering to think that the little pence comic books many kids collected are now potentially worth many thousands of pounds.
The recent film remakes of Spiderman, Ironman, Captain America and The Avengers in the Marvel universe and Batman, Superman and the Green Lantern in the DC universe hav been fueling the rise in comic book value. Every time a film is released, the public’s interest in superheroes peaks and the value of old comic books increases. With many more Marvel and DC films planned for the rest of the decade, the value of classic and collectable comics is set to increase further – potentially meaning big payouts for people with forgotten collections in attics and garages.
If you think you have a comic book collection gathering dust somewhere in your house then there’s no better place to sell them than World of Superheroes who will pay a fair price for your old comic books.
